As part of the major building improvements that took place in 2003 Golden Valley Vets built a completely new extension to provide modern operating theatres and imaging facilities. Understanding that these facilities were for the future but unable to find anything within the veterinary profession that seemed to fit the bill, Golden Valley were lucky enough to be shown around the new facilities at the Bristol Children’s Hospital from where most of the ideas for the new theatres came. The use of glass walls gave the opportunity for a whole new way of working which has certainly proved to be a huge step forward and the flexibility of using motorised ceiling pendants for the delivery of power and anaesthetic gases to anywhere in the operating theatre has allowed us to minimise clutter on the floor and gives a very safe operating environment.
